Here’s where to drink in Hong Kong in November 2021

We are in November, which means we are now preparing for the holidays. A pre-cursor to mulled wines and creamy eggnog I’m forced to spend the next month doing lyrical lyrics (stay tuned for gift guides, reader; lots to come), the multitude of libations this month covers the entire range, from CBD-infused serving drinks inspired by the unique: Hunter S. Thompson.

Long live the penultimate month of 2021 with these new drinks in Hong Kong:

Look – we are fat Stockton fans here at Lifestyle Asia Hong Kong. This specific menu, which honors the namesake of the underground bar Hunter S. (Stockton!) Thompson, was not mentioned once, not twice, but in Three separate Best Sips endorsements. To recap, just in case, “Creativity of Sins” is a 12-glass libation itinerary that traces Thompson’s incredible life; one riddled with the worst of sins – and the best of times. Of Better than sex (HK $ 105), excited by the book he wrote with the same titillating name and Damn Gatsby (HK $ 120), a retrospective of Thompson’s delinquent teenage, to a personal favorite, Gonzo (HK $ 135), the Blood Mary menu, the Thompson’s premier breakfast, “Creativity of Sins” is a loving, indulgent, and fiercely sought-after tribute to a man with vices, yes, but wow – what a life.

Unbothered brings CBD to LKF

After opening at the end of October, Unbothered – which holds the court at the location of The Coffee Academic’s Lan Kwai Fong space – is Hong Kong’s first dedicated CBD bar. The entire Unbothered menu contains strengths of 15 mg to 30 mg of CBD.

“With a blend of alcohol, wellness, art and music, we hope to be an oasis in the heart of Lan Kwai Fong,” said founder Connie Lee. “We hope to help break the stigma surrounding CBD products. “

Besides cocktails, Unbothered also has a lunch menu and CBD infused teas.

SAVVY opens on November 12

Billed as “Hong Kong’s new contemporary lifestyle dining destination,” Prince Hotel’s SAVVY combines the machinations of three distinct areas: a restaurant, lounge and, for the specific purposes of this topic, a bar. In daylight, SAVVY’s marble cantina functions as a noodle bar, with Penang Assam Laksa and Sichuan Dan Dan Noodles featured on the menu. As night falls, the bar lives up to its designation and accumulates ABV, with French, Italian and New World wines available to order, as well as an extensive cocktail list, including cocktails aged in oak barrels from sherry designed by the resident mixologist.

Tempo Tempo, an outdoor destination

Pirata’s gigantic business, The Sixteenth, comprises four restaurants in a single development at Oxford House, Taikoo Place. Tempo Tempo, one in four, is one of the largest outdoor terraces in Hong Kong; an open-air terrazza intended to evoke a il dolce far niente tenor. Or, “the joy of doing nothing”. Were in.

Tempo Tempo is named after the unit of measure in which music is played, allowing guests to linger, enjoy, and hang out with stiff glasses of sunsets – think champagne cocktails sparkling, Aperol spritz and hot and sour – by hand. Also have Italian pizzetta, crostino and cold cuts if you get hungry between drinks.

If there is a party in your future, Tempo Tempo reservations are available for parties of more than ten people.

Candor brings hip-hop to Peel Street

If you’re more gold-chain hip-hop than Spotify’s “Today’s Top Hits,” Common Abode’s Candor – a dark and sleek bar-lounge concept located on the slopes of Peel Street – might just be your cup of tea. Or, you know, your shot of pure tequila. Let’s go.

Candour’s craft drink program, designed by beverage consultant Chanel Adams, is like an EP filled with libations; a list of carefully concocted drink tracks named for iconic hip-hop credentials, including COUNTY (HK $ 128), in homage to the autobiography of the late DMX and The Chronicle (HK $ 128), an ode to man, the caption: Dr. Dre. If you’re feeling peckish in between, order bites like Orange Chicken (HK $ 88; our editor’s old best bite) and an Octopus hot dog (HK $ 148). Then resume the dance.
